In November of 2023, a friend of mine, Justin Saber, who does film work asked me to be a grip for a film that he was directing that would be entered into a contest for the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. I worked as a grip and boom operator for 3 days, filming the scenes on the football field and parking lot. Due to a scheduling conflict I was unable to attend filming in the house but Logan Surber, the director of photography, was able to take over. The group consisted of 5 actors, and 9 crew members. Out of the crew, 3 of us were currently in high school (Myself, Joeseph Nevarez, and Justin Saber). The other 6 had already moved onto college or employment. On the shoot I was able to provide equipment as well as solve any problems that arose related to the equipment, such as an audio issue with the boom that was able to be solved through the device settings. It was one of the most professional and enjoyable shoots I've ever been a part of. When it came time for us to see the final cut of the film before the premiere on February 17th, we were incredibly lucky in that we were able to watch the film at Robert Zemeckis's house in his screening room. Not everyone was able to make it to the party, but we were all very happy with the final version of the film and greatly enjoyed the process.
